Air Conditioning Servicing in Bristol
Air conditioning works best when it is clean. Over a year, dust builds up in the filters and on the coils, the condensate drain can start to block, and the system has to work harder to do the same job. A yearly service keeps it efficient, quiet and fresh-smelling.
Many manufacturers also expect regular servicing as a condition of their warranty, so it is worth keeping a record of every visit.
What a service includes
- Cleaning or washing the indoor unit filters
- Cleaning the indoor coil and fan, and treating it to help prevent smells
- Checking and clearing the condensate drain so it does not leak or drip
- Inspecting the outdoor unit, clearing leaves and debris from the coil
- Checking electrical connections and the isolator
- Running the system in cooling and heating and checking it performs as it should
- A short note of anything we found and any work we recommend
What affects the cost and time
Our guide price is from £95, per indoor unit, clean and full check. The time depends mainly on how many indoor units you have, how dirty they are and how easy they are to reach. A single wall unit is usually a short visit. High-level units, units above stairs or ceiling cassettes take longer.
What to expect on the day
We need access to each indoor unit and to the outdoor unit. We protect the floor and furniture under the indoor unit, as cleaning the coil can release water and dirt. The system will be switched off while we work. When we finish, we run it so you can feel the difference and tell you about anything that needs attention.
How often should air conditioning be serviced?
For most homes, once a year is enough. Systems that run a lot, such as in offices, server rooms or kitchens, or homes with pets, can benefit from more frequent cleaning. Between services you can rinse the indoor filters yourself every few weeks during heavy use.

Do you service systems you did not install?
Yes. We service wall-mounted split systems whoever fitted them. Tell us the make and model if you know it.
Why does my air conditioning smell?
A musty smell usually comes from dirt and moisture on the indoor coil or a partly blocked drain. A service cleans both.
Does servicing keep my warranty valid?
Many manufacturers require regular servicing as a warranty condition. Check your warranty terms, and keep the service records we give you.
