Air Conditioning Installation in Bristol
We supply and fit wall-mounted split air conditioning for homes and offices across Bristol and the surrounding areas. A split system has an indoor unit on the wall, an outdoor unit outside and a short run of insulated pipework between them. Most also heat, so one system can keep a room comfortable all year.
Our team includes two fully qualified electricians, so the electrical connection is done and certified by the same people who fit the system. Refrigerant work is carried out by engineers who are F-Gas qualified.
What an installation involves
- A survey, in person or from photos, to choose the right size of unit for the room
- Planning the route for the pipework and the best spot for the outdoor unit
- Mounting the indoor unit and drilling a neat core hole through the wall
- Fixing the outdoor unit on a wall bracket, ground stand or flat roof
- Running and insulating the refrigerant pipework, cable and condensate drain
- A dedicated electrical circuit with an isolator, tested and certified
- Pressure testing, vacuuming and commissioning the system, then showing you how to use it
What affects the cost and time
Our guide price for a single-room install is from £1,800, supply and fit, electrics included. The final price is fixed in your quote before any work starts.
The biggest factors are the size and model of the unit, how far the indoor unit is from the outdoor unit, how high the outdoor unit needs to go, and whether your consumer unit can take a new circuit. Solid stone walls, upper floors and boxing in pipework can add time. A straightforward single room is usually completed in a day; multi-room systems take longer.
What to expect on the day
We will confirm the positions of both units with you before drilling anything. We use dust sheets and clear up as we go. Expect some drilling noise and a short period with the power off while the new circuit is connected. Before we leave, we run the system, check it is working properly, explain the remote and controls, and leave you the electrical certificate and commissioning details.
Planning and permissions
Many houses can install air conditioning under permitted development if the outdoor unit meets size, siting and noise conditions. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas usually need extra consent, so it is worth checking with your local council before you commit.
Frequently asked questions
How long does an air conditioning installation take?
A straightforward single-room installation is usually completed in a day. Multi-room systems, long pipe runs or electrical upgrades take longer, and we will tell you the expected time in your quote.
Do you do the electrical work as well?
Yes. We have two fully qualified electricians on the team, so the dedicated circuit is installed and certified as part of the job.
Can the unit heat as well as cool?
Most modern split systems can heat as well as cool. We will confirm this for the model you choose.
Can you give me a price from photos?
Often, yes. Send a few photos of the room, the outside wall and your consumer unit with the quote form and we will usually price your job the same day.
