Air Conditioning Repair in Bristol
When air conditioning stops working properly it is usually one of a handful of faults: a blocked filter or drain, an electrical problem, a failed part, or a refrigerant leak. We find the cause first, then tell you the cost before we fix it.
Because our team includes two fully qualified electricians, and our engineers are F-Gas qualified, we can look at both the electrical side and the refrigerant side in one visit.
Common problems we fix
- Not cooling or heating, or blowing warm air
- Water dripping from the indoor unit
- Unusual noises, rattles or vibration
- Error codes or flashing lights on the indoor unit
- The system tripping the electrics or not turning on
- Ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit
- Bad smells when the system runs
What affects the cost and time
Our repair callout starts from £85, diagnosis included, parts quoted upfront. Some faults, such as a blocked drain or dirty filter, can be sorted on the first visit. Others need a part ordering, and the price and time then depend on the part and the make of system. Refrigerant leaks need to be found and repaired before the system is re-gassed, which adds time.
What to expect on the day
Tell us the make and model if you can, any error code, and what the system is doing. We test the system, the electrics and the refrigerant pressures to find the fault. We then explain what is wrong and what it will cost to fix, so you can decide before any repair work goes ahead.
Before you call
- Check the remote has working batteries and is set to the right mode
- Check the circuit breaker and the isolator next to the outdoor unit
- Rinse the indoor filters if they look dusty
- Make sure nothing is blocking the outdoor unit
Frequently asked questions
Can you repair any make of air conditioning?
We work on wall-mounted split systems from the main manufacturers. Some parts have to be ordered, which can add a few days.
Is a leaking indoor unit serious?
It is usually a blocked or badly sloped condensate drain, which is often a quick fix. Switch the system off to protect your wall and floor until it is looked at.
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
No. Repair visits are by arrangement. You can call us any time to describe the problem and book a visit.
